Happy New Year!

As rain falls and the Oregon coast embraces its wintery chill, we are reminded of the unique magic that seasonal changes bring to Circles in the Sand. Each year, this time signifies not just the end of one chapter, but the welcoming of a new one.

The Nature of Winter on the Oregon Coast

Winter on the Oregon coast is genuinely one-of-a-kind. The storms that roll in breathe life into the waves crashing against the shore. King tides—the highest tides of the year—expose hidden treasures among the rocks and leave behind piles of driftwood.

This time of year, with its undeniable beauty, also brings challenges. The ocean waves often reach the foredunes, and frequent rain makes it nearly impossible to draw labyrinths much of the time.

The Labyrinths of Circles in the Sand

At Circles in the Sand, our labyrinths hold special meaning for visitors seeking clarity and mindfulness. During the warmer months, we gather to create intricate designs in the sand, inviting all to explore new paths.

Unfortunately, with the rains and unrelenting tides of winter, these labyrinths must temporarily yield to nature's whims. Instead of viewing this as a loss, we recognize the beauty in this cycle. The absence of our labyrinths reminds us to cherish the memories made in past seasons and inspires our excitement for the coming summer.

A Year of Anticipation

As we say goodbye to the past year and greet the new one, there is a sense of excitement within the Circles in the Sand community. Reflecting on the previous year, we see how each season shapes our experiences and connections. The fleeting nature of our labyrinths is a reminder of the precious moments we share—ever-changing yet etched in our hearts.

Looking ahead, we are already planning a vibrant summer schedule filled with labyrinth experiences and community gatherings. We encourage everyone to check our website for the latest updates, mark your calendars, and join us for sandy adventures when the warmer months and the sand return!

As the waves crash and the seasons shift, remember that every moment is a gift waiting to be celebrated. Happy New Year from all of us at Circles in the Sand! May this year be filled with love, laughter, joy, and a sprinkle of ocean magic.
